In my latest typography illustration, the word HOME becomes more than a simple expression — it becomes a visual story of identity, memory, and belonging. At the heart of the composition lies the map of Iran, gently placed within the structure of the word itself, reminding us that home is not only a place we live, but a place that lives within us.
The letters are bold and structured, yet inside them carries something deeply emotional. The map of Iran is softly illuminated, filled with delicate line-drawn faces — women and men whose expressions represent strength, resilience, hope, and silent courage. These faces are not portraits of individuals; they are reflections of a collective spirit. They symbolize generations, stories, and voices that shape what “home” truly means.
The colors draw inspiration from the Iranian flag — green, white, and red — integrated thoughtfully into the typography. Rather than dominating the composition, they frame it. They hold it. They support the meaning without overwhelming it. The balance between minimalism and symbolism is intentional, allowing space for viewers to project their own emotions onto the piece.
In this artwork, “HOME” is not confined to geography. It represents memory, language, culture, and shared history. For many people living far from their homeland, home becomes layered — it is both where you are and where your heart still belongs. The map inside the word suggests that no matter how far we travel, we carry our roots within us.
The soft white outline surrounding Iran gives the feeling of light emerging from within, symbolizing hope. Even in moments of uncertainty, identity continues to glow quietly but powerfully. The faces inside the map merge into one another, emphasizing unity — different expressions, different stories, yet one shared homeland.
This illustration is both personal and universal. It speaks to diaspora experiences, to longing, to pride, and to the unbreakable connection between people and their origins. It invites viewers to ask themselves:
What does home mean to me?
Is it a place? A memory? A language? A struggle? A dream?
Through typography and symbolism, this piece transforms a simple four-letter word into a visual statement — that home is not just where we live, but where our identity is rooted.
Because sometimes, home is not behind us.
It is within us.
